Questions and Answers

If your question is not answered below, send us an e-mail.

Q: Why do I need business school?

A: Art schools generally don’t teach business concepts very well.  Creative people often have good ideas, but lack the support in turning those ideas into a successful business.

Q: Where do I start?

A: Start with the basic information on the Welcome page. Evaluate our growing list of classes, articles, free podcasts and quality content. Sign up to be an apprentice member.

Once you are a member you may read, listen, and view the information in our archives (listed under categories) that best suit your needs. We recommend you start with the introduction recordings and class. Then work on the classes you find appealing as they are added each month.

Q: How do I enroll?

A: Click on the enroll now button.

Q: How do I leave the academy?

A: You may leave any time by pressing the drop out button found on the subscription pages (or in red above). If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail us (and allow us time to respond).

Q: How much does it cost?

A: The charter membership is $14.65 a month. We are increasing enrollment to $29.00 on Sept. 1, 2009.

Q: What is the kick-start program?

A: The kick-start program is an intensive six-week, business-building program available to members of the academy.

Q: Why are you offering a charter membership at such a low rate?

A:  The reason is simple.  We are spending the first few months uploading the base course content, editing two years’ worth of articles, and producing videos for our courses.  As the content of the site increases, so will the enrollment fees.

Q: I’ve enrolled and paid, but I don’t have access to the classes.

A: Sometimes the system doesn’t connect immediately.  If this happens to you, please contact us right away via e-mail so that we my connect you manually.

Q: Do you offer refunds?

A: No, we do not offer refunds for your current month. You may cancel at any time. We recommend waiting close to  the end of your 30-day billing cycle so you receive full value of your investment.

Q: Where do I find my classes?

A:  You may look for classes and posts under the categories drop-down menu or under the classes tab.

Q: What content is free on this site?

A: Prosperous Artists Academy makes available at no charge some of its archived posts and current podcasts. Once in a while we will have special offers on free programs.

Q: How do I use the chat function?

A: Select the chat button or go to a page with a chat client on it.  You can sign in using your Twitter ID or as a guest.   It is available anytime.  Feel free to meet other academy members or work with the instructors during scheduled chats.

Q: Will my monthly rate ever increase?

A: No. Rates will increase for new people enrolling in the program. But, the rate you sign in at always will be your monthly enrollment fee.  If you leave the program and return at a later time you will be required to enroll at the new rate.

Q: What are the qualifications of instructors Rosh Sillars and Dean LaDouceur?

A: Both Rosh and Dean have succeeded and failed at creative businesses.  This experience is priceless.  They know what works and what does not work.  Rosh is an instructor at two universities and speaks nationally about new media and marketing.  Dean has an extensive sales and public relations background.
